An important discovery concerning cave paintings in the Sulawesi region of Indonesia which is believed to be the oldest cave painting ever discovered in the world, was made by a collaborative research team comprising Griffith University, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and Southern Cross University. Situated in a limestone cave in Leang Karampuang, Maros-Pangkep, South Sulawesi, the aforementioned rock paintings show three humanoid characters engaging in conversation with a wild pig.
