An art installation of nearly 1,000 fake flamingos in Bristol, UK on January 30, 2025 designed to highlight plastic in the oceans has caused confusion – as they are made from plastic. The piece titled “Ramandu’s Table” by Bruce Munro takes inspiration from both the original plastic pink flamingo creator Don Featherstone, and from CS Lewis’s literature.
