Construction workers at the Sagrada Família Basilica in Barcelona, Spain, 19 September 2024, on which construction began in 1882. It has been announced that the cathedral’s largest and last spire, the Jesus Christ spire, will be finished in 2025, with a viewpoint from which 11 people at a time will be able to look over the city. The following year, a 17-metre cross will be placed on top of the spire and the cathedral completed, to coincide with the centenary of the death of its architect, Antoni Gaudí.
