The Albanese Government is investing $2 million to support the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital deliver life-saving care to sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife on the NSW North Coast.The commitment, made during the 2025 election campaign, will help staff to treat and rehabilitate native animals.The funding is expected to support around 4,000 animals, while keeping skilled veterinarians and vet nurses employed to provide the care. Since 2020, the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital, which is a registered business of Wildlife Recovery Australia, has delivered quality care to more than 10,000 wildlife patients.This is part of the Australian Government�s Local Environmental Projects Program that is protecting and improving our environment and heritage.
