Tractor racers compete in the Kubota sponsored iron buffalo tractor drag race on September 28, 2024 in Kamphaeng Phet, Thailand. In Thailand, iron buffalo racing has brought a modern twist to the country’s long-standing farming traditions and the traditional buffalo races held annually in Chonburi. Farmers and racers modified their two-wheeled tractors, known as iron buffaloes, to race through muddy rice paddy fields in Kamphaeng Phet province. On the first day, September 28, professional racers competed, while the second day will feature local farmers. Drivers compete with Kubota engines, battling for prizes and bragging rights. The event, sponsored by Kubota, attracted racers and audience members from around the region. The event in Kamphaeng Phet raised money for village tents and scholarships for the Nong Hua Kwai School.
