The Fabbrica di San Pietro has organized a press tour to the construction site of the gilded bronze Baldachin and the Chair of St. Peter, to admire the completed restorations on October 8, 2024. A restoration of great symbolic value because the Baldachin, which stands solemnly above the high altar, the work of the architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini, marks the site of the Tomb of the Apostle Peter, to whom the Vatican Basilica is dedicated.
