ALL 2013 National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest – in HIGH RESOLUTION. Part IV: “Sense of Place” – Weeks 1-10 (70 Photos)

“The curious camel in Petra”. Camel is one of the most iconic species in the deserted area of Petra. In the past it was a mean of transportation and nowadays it give rides to the tourists. On the day I took this picture, I visited Petra in the early morning and I found this two camels were idled in front of the famous spot of Petra, the Treasury. While I was trying to photograph a pair of camel with the Treasury as the background, one of them discover me and turns his head towards me, creating this interesting shot of a curious camel. Location: Petra, Jordan. (Photo and caption by Sai Kit Leung/National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest)
