“Sangre de Cristo Range, Colorado from 98,000 feet up on a Weather Balloon”. A view east of the San Luis Valley over the Sangre de Cristo Range of south-central Colorado, USA. In the lower left-hand corner is Great Sand Dunes National Park; the highest dunes there are 750 feet tall. In the background you can make out center-pivot irrigated farm fields on the valley floor, and beyond the San Juan Range. To the north lies the Sawtooth Range.
