“Tranquility in a Storm”. While visiting Japan during Tsuyu (raining season) 2 summers ago, I ran into a building and waited in the observation deck to escape the rain. Instead of being amazed by the view, I was intrigued by how the pose of a tired tourist sitting on the railings mimicked the structural bracing above her. She managed to find a moment of tranquility by resting on the railings and enjoying the view out the clerestory windows while isolating and sheltering herself from the massive city filled with rain and chaos outside.
