An Israeli delegation left Cairo 17 July 2014 after talks with Egyptian officials on a proposed long-term truce for the Gaza Strip. “The delegation's short visit came in response to the Egyptian initiative (on a Gaza ceasefire) that includes holding talks in Cairo with top-level delegations from the Israeli government and the Palestinian factions to consolidate the proposed ceasefire and complete confidence-building measures”, an Egyptian official said.
