An artist has given classic paintings new hope – by adding Star Wars elements into the famous works. David Hamilton, 50, put his unique twist on paintings by the likes of Monet, Munch, Rembrandt and Van Gogh. The creative artist, from Livingston, Scotland, came up with the idea while flicking through a book of classic paintings. Nithin Rao Kumblekar, a freelance illustrator and art director based in Bangalore, India, created these illustrations for an ad campaign by Ogilvy & Mather for ‘in store’ branding for Allen Solly clothing. The idea of the project was to blend each illustration in with a model(s) / photograph to express the theme “My world, My way“.

When Stu Thomson (Cut Media) and Danny MacAskill approached us (Santa Cruz Bicycles) with the idea of being the first to tackle the Black Cuillin ridge on a bicycle, we were in from the start. Located on the Isle of Skye (Danny’s home on the west coast of Scotland) the ridge is infamous for its jagged trails, wild weather and dramatic climbing route up the “Inaccessible Pinnacle”.

The world’s first all diamond ring was revealed by Shawish Jewelry and boasts 150 carats carved from a singe-faceted diamond. The all diamond ring costs a pretty penny at a whopping $68 million. I wonder with celebrity will try to nab it. The idea of an all diamond ring seemed to be a fantasy, yet the epitome of art.

Guadalajara-based artist Gonzalo Lebrija created a public art installation in the parking lot (1430 Delgany Street, Denver, CO 80202) across from the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) in the summer of 2010. The installation, entitled History of Suspended Time: Monument for the Impossible, was developed as a dual collaboration with MCA Denver's museum-wide exhibition, Energy Effects: Art & Artifacts from the Landscape of Glorious Excess, as well as Denver's inaugural 2010 Biennial of the Americas, an international event that celebrated the culture, ideas and people of the Western Hemisphere.
