You have to agree, that most of the designs of the license plates in the United States are pretty boring and bland. In most cases, a three-year-old could have done a better job. This is the reason why Jonathan Lawrence has decided to create a project of redesigning the license plates of all 50 states. His designs feature fresh vibrant colors, as well as clean and readable design. These are the license plates you’d want to use if you have anything that is better than a rundown, old pickup truck (no offence to owners of rundown, old pickup trucks). Photographer Emily Dryden and sculptor/actor Zahydé Pietri combine theatricality and organic produce to compose the photographs for their series Fresh Faces. The portraits are made from a wide range of fruit and vegetables and aim to highlight humanity’s diversity – Pietri is from Puerto Rico and Dryden is from New York. Each face has its own name and identity: “We have stories for them, which you can see in the expressions”, says Dryden, “but we decided to keep them to ourselves. We didn’t want to spoil that”. Toyota revealed its i-Road concept, a three-wheeled all-electric motorcycle of sorts that seats two. The unique design is only 33 inches wide, which would make it tops in buzzing in through and around traffic. An Active Lean system tilts the i-Road through corners like a motorbike, while the cabin (which seats two in a tandem layout) is fully enclosed. Maximum range is about 30 miles.
