Assimilation By Dillon Marsh

Captured by South African photographer Dillon Marsh, these fantastic photographs depict the many designs employed by sociable weavers to build sturdy nests that are safe from intruders such as cobras and tree snakes. They are also nice cool during the day, and stay warm during cold desert nights. A University of Stellenbosch graduate, Marsh is currently interested in landscape photographer who seeks out anomalies that can be arranged in a photographic series. Assimilation depicts scores of intricate weaver’s nests atop utility poles in Southern Africa. Colonies of sociable weavers have been known to stay attached to one particular nest for up to 100 years, according to The San Diego Zoo.

“An Oscar nominated documentary maker and war photographer who learnt his trade at Cardiff University has been killed while covering the conflict in Lybia. Tim Hetherington is understood to have died in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in the Libyan city of Misrata. Earlier this year the 40-year-old was nominated in the Best Documentary Feature category at the Academy Awards for the war documentary Restrepo which he co-directed”. – WalesOnline

The container ship NCL Salten ran aground at Byneset, outside Trondheim, Norway. A man in Norway woke up to find a massive container ship in his front garden. The 135-metre (443-foot) vessel missed Johan Helberg's house by a few metres at around 5am local time on Thursday, May 22, 2025 in Byneset, near Trondheim. Mr. Helberg was only made aware of the incident after his panicked neighbour, who had seen the ship heading straight for shore, repeatedly rang his doorbell and eventually called him on the phone. Fruit Ninja In Real Life

The parody of the video game uploaded last week is, of course, going viral as we speak reaching upwards of a million views in a little as six days. It's not even the first Fruit Ninja parody, but somehow this one resonates with it's simple formula: take a guy with a samurai sword, throw fruit at him and watch him slice them in half in slow motion. When he misses, make sure some fruit hits him right in the kisser. Gallagher ain't got nothing on this.
