All the drugery of dishwashing in this three-times -a day task, which comes to the house wife who does her own house work, has been eliminated by the new dish washer shown in the photograph on April 25, 1921. It is the invention of a Cincinnati school teacher, who sought to make things a bit more pleasant for his wife. Incedently, his idea was worth 12,00 to him, for a manufacturing concern thought so much of the “dish-washer” they purchased the rights and will seek to add a little joy to thousands of other housewives. With the aid of only hot water, dishes placed in a wire rack and set into the drum are made clean and spotless in two minutes. (Photo by Bettmann Archive/Getty Images)

Sichuan opera is a vibrant, centuries-old tradition that showcases the joys and challenges of daily life in rural China with tales of love, tradition, and family honor. As the traditional audience grows older, the opera as a form of art and recreation is struggling to endure as newer spectators within younger generations are leaving the countryside for China's cities to seek employment. These adorable cats – which are twins – showcase their contrasting blue and green eyes. The fascinating pair, Iriss and Abyss, live with their owner Pavel Dyagilev, 34, in St. Petersburg, Russia. The cats have a condition called heterochromia iridis, which causes each eye to vary in color. Dyagilev said: “When I found an ad on social media that two kittens were seeking a new home, I never imagined that I'd end up with two. But I looked through the pictures of kittens and saw two twins always together on the photos. And my heart melted”. (Photo by @sis.twins/Caters News Agency)
