Urban Ghosts is delighted to announce the launch of photographer Matt Lambros’ stunning new website, After the Final Curtain, and accompanying blog. Collectively, Matt’s photographs rank among the most vivid and evocative images of abandoned theatres, hospitals and other deserted buildings, anywhere on the internet.

Joshua Hoffine, based in Kansas City, Mo., and a self-proclaimed “Horror Photographer”, is interested in the psychology of fear. In his project “After Dark, My Sweet”, Hoffine’s surreal and staged images render these fears visible with the “visual grammar of a child”. These pictures reveal the crumbling ruins of the famed Grand Orient Express, now hollowed-out and almost reduced to rubble. There are only a couple of the trains, launched in 1883, left in the world. This example stands dormant in Belgium, untouched from its last voyage in the winter of 2009. Rusty ceilings, moth-eaten seats and tattered floors capture its level of decay.
