New Zealand-based artist Henry Hargreaves became interested in the Last Meal tradition, which inmates waiting on death row have the right to request. He decided to re-create certain serial killers’ last meals in his photography series.

Gertrude “Billie” Murphy, 22, is brought in for questioning in the murder case of Michael Stopec, who was shot and killed in an apartment hotel, circa July 1927. Murphy had been friends of the married Stopec and his suspected killer Henry Guardino, 31. It is said that Stopec and Guardino were “bitter rivals for the favor of Billie” and that Murphy had tired of Guardino and was going to stay with Stopec. Meet Günther Anton Krabbenhöft, a grandpa from Berlin, Germany who is making waves around the world because of his killer style. He was first noticed by Björn Akstinat of the German fashion blog Schickaa, who photographed Günther at the train station in a red bowling hat, yellow bow tie and burgundy leather driving gloves.
