Goldwell Open Air Museum: Last Supper

Just outside of a Nevada ghost town, Rhyolite, is the Goldwell Open Air Museum. The museum was created by a group of Belgian artists and consists of seven outdoor sculptures dramatically using the Mojae Desert as a backdrop. The Last Supper, created by the late artist Charles Szukalski, is a piece that was due to last only a couple of years but withstood time and nature since 1984. Men from the local community were covered in linen and plaster to create the eerie forms, reminiscent of Da Vinci's last supper. It is a truly unique environment and piece of art in the great American desert.

The photographer followed New York City free runners, known as tracers, for a few years, documenting their athletic prowess as they freely roamed about the urban streets with a zest for life. Finally, he decided to take his personal project to the next level by producing a collection of dramatically captivating portraits of these athletes for his series titled Parkour Motion.

Oleg Valeriyevich Kotov was born October 27, 1965, in Simferopol, Crimean oblast in Ukrainian SSR. After a career as a physican assigned to space program, he joined the Russian cosmonaut corps. He has flown two long duration spaceflight on the International Space Station logging just short of a year in space. Kotov is currently assigned to the Soyuz TMA-10M/Expedition 37/Expedition 38 long duration spaceflight scheduled for 2013-2014.

The focus of the german photographer michael wolf's work is life in mega cities. Many of his projects document the architecture and the vernacular culture of metropolises. Wolf grew up in Canada, Europe and the United States, studying at UC Berkeley and at the Folkwang School with Otto Steinert in Essen, Germany. He moved to Hong Kong in 1994 where he worked for 8 years as contract photographer for Stern magazine. Since 2001, Wolf has been focusing on his own projects, many of which have been published as books.

Londoners enjoy a “Silent Night” as Big Ben falls silent, London, UK on August 21, 2017. Londoners snuggle up to enjoy the city's first silent night as Big Ben chimed its last for four years. As the sun set over London last night the city bid a temporary farewell to the chimes of its beloved Big Ben. Londoners were testing out the new quiet of the Southbank in an unusual fashion. A luxurious bed, courtesy of bed firm, Silentnight, complete with fluffy white duvet, plump pillows, a hot water bottle and a cuddly toy, emerged in the heart of the city, just in time for bed. It didn't take local residents and workers long to make the most of the peace and quiet with the city's tired workers climbing in for a nap. Rose Allerston from Clapham, London said “After a stressful day in the office, I couldn't think of anything better than going home and climbing into bed - but when I saw this bed opposite Big Ben I just couldn't resist getting in for a snuggle”. The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is an international mountain sightseeing route some 90 kilometers (56 miles) long. The route goes across the 3,000-meter-high North Alpine mountains, the so-called “roof of Japan,” and connects Toyama and Shinano Omachi. You can enjoy the panorama by taking a train, highland bus, trolley bus, cable car, and ropeway. Since the lines opened in June 1971, the Tateyama mountain area has been transformed from an isolated spot into one of the nation’s best sightseeing areas, where a million guests visit every year.
