The growing trade in alligators, snakes, monkeys, crocodiles and spiders is directly linked to species loss in some of the world’s most threatened ecosystems. Ruben Belloso Adorna, a young artist from Seville, Spain, has taken the art world by storm with his incredibly detailed portraits of real-life and fictional characters drawn exclusively in pastel on wooden canvas.

Paper cutouts of cartoon characters have evolved into a meme known as Paper Child with a community on deviantART by the name of #paperchildREVOLUTION dedicated to the craft.
