In this March 31, 2019 photo, an Egyptian student borrows a Bedouin wedding dress to pose for a photograph with Bedouin men from the Hamada tribe, in Wadi Sahw, Abu Zenima, in South Sinai, Egypt. Four Bedouin women are for the first time leading tours in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, breaking new ground in their deeply conservative community, where women almost never work outside the home or interact with outsiders. The photograph you see above isn’t the result of Photoshop or infrared photography. Captured by Spanish photographer Palíndromo Mészáros, it shows what the landscape of Ajka, Hungary looked like half a year after the Ajka alumina plant accident — an industrial disaster in which 35 million cubic feet of toxic waste flooded the land to a height of around 6.5 feet. Mészáros lined up the thick red line caused by the sludge with the horizon line to obtain this surreal image.

The mobile home “De Markies” was an entry in the “Temporary Living” competition 1985 and was conceived as a mobile home. Onthe road it measures 2.00 m by 4.50 m, and once it has arrived at its destination its floorspace can be increased threefold in a matter of seconds. “De Markies” was awarded the Public Prize at the Rotterdam Design Prize 1996.
