The dolls, which are said to bring good luck to their owners, became a media sensation this week after a leaked memo from a Thai budget airline gave pointers on how they could be treated like passengers if they have a paid-for seat. Luis Hernan was always curious about how wireless technologies like radio are transmitted through the air. So after finishing up his studies in architecture, computer science, and design, Hernan decided to research these invisible signals through a PhD at Newcastle University. Hernan set up a system that turned the wireless signals around him into colourful, ghostlike images using long-exposure photography, allowing people to see the strength of the signals around them. Street art started out as unintelligible words written on concrete walls with spray paint by gang members or silly kids. Now, however, it evolved into a unique form of art that might stun and inspire awe in the onlookers. For example, the artist that goes by the name 1010 specializes in creating optical illusions. His creations look like portals into other dimensions, without any hint that it might simply be a flat concrete wall painted over with multicolored paints. You have no idea of the power of a skillful makeup artist. By working his magic, he can transform a woman into a respectable gentleman, a young lady into a heartless drug dealer, or simply show how a person would look like after a few decades have passed. Some can even transform a not-so-handsome young man into a beautiful young girl, which can spell a lot of trouble if you see him/her at a night club. Lucia Pittalis is one of those masters of makeup, and she uses her skills to stun the audience by transforming herself and a few volunteers into famous movie characters, actors, and musicians. Sprout A Pencil That Grows is a very simple but excellent concept. We all know that as soon as a pencil gets down to the point where there’s only an inch or so left it’s pretty much useless. The Sprout lets you put that little stub to get use. The end of the Sprout has a seed capsule that is water activated, after you plant your pencil and water it a few times the capsule dissolves and the seed’s start germinating. The plants usually take about a week to sprout. The Sprout pencils come in a number of varieties including vegetables, herbs and flowers like rosemary, tomato, marigold, and many more.
