She publicly dated Michael Jackson in the late 1970s, later denying his accusations that she tried to seduce him. She married temperamental tennis ace John McEnroe in 1986. They divorced in 1994, which reportedly triggered another bout of O’Neal’s heroin addiction, leading McEnroe to obtain custody of their children in 1998.
