This is the shocking moment three degenerates assault a wild stag during a cruel display in a city park. The trio of young men, wearing hoodies, gilets and tracksuit bottoms, took turns to pull the male deer's antlers and slap it on the romp. The unsavoury scenes took place in Wollaton Park, Nottingham, UK on January 4, 2025, where increasing numbers of “deer pestering” incidents have been reported. The men were photographed in the act by wildlife photographer Chris Golightly, who was horrified at what she witnessed. (Photo by Chris Golightly/Bournemouth News)

The hands of vets caring for a micro bat who was admitted to the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital on December 19, 2024 in Byron Bay, Australia. As Australia's bushfire season approaches, the only all-species wildlife hospital between Sydney and the Gold Coast has been forced to reduce its opening hours over Christmas as surging patient numbers take their toll on the humans who provide the vital veterinary service free of charge, 7 days a week. Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital is seeking financial support from philanthropic foundations and corporates to establish a Wildlife Investment Trust underpinning the conservation charity's own efforts to raise funds through events and advertising campaigns to source public donations.
