They live on a small pension Modesto receives from his former job as a newspaper journalist, and by begging from passing drivers. They have no children or other family members, and they own no property beside the truck and a few personal items, but they both say that they are happy living the way they do. Fresh scuffles broke out on Saturday between Hong Kong pro-democracy protesters and opponents of the week-long demonstrations, reigniting concerns that the Chinese-controlled city's worst unrest in decades could take a violent turn. The protests have been largely peaceful since police last Sunday fired tear gas at crowds demanding Beijing grant Hong Kong the unfettered right to choose its own leader. But the mood turned ugly on Friday at the most volatile protest site, in the teeming suburb of Mongkok where some criminal gangs are suspected to be based. (Photo by Carlos Barria/Reuters)

The three common booster cores are 40.8 meters in length and 5.18 meters in diameter. Each has an RS-68 engine that uses liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen propellant producing 297,556 kilograms of thrust. All totaled, the three Delta IV boosters collectively generate 889,041 kilograms of thrust. The upcoming flight test will use the Delta IV Heavy to launch the Orion and send it 5,793 kilometers in altitude beyond the Earth's surface. During the two-orbit, four-hour mission, engineers will evaluate the systems critical to crew safety, the launch abort system, the heat shield and the parachute system. The data gathered during the mission will influence design decisions and validate existing computer models. The flight also will reduce overall mission risks and costs for later Orion flights.
