The Day in Photos – October 15, 2015

A handout picture made available by NASA on 14 October 2015 and taken in visible light with the Cassini spacecraft narrow-angle camera of Saturn's moons Mimas (bottom) and Pandora (top), 26 July 2015. This view looks toward the unilluminated side of Saturn's rings from 0.26 degrees below the ring plane. Pandora (81 km across) is elongated and irregular in shape, while Mimas (396km across) formed into a sphere due to self-gravity imposed by its higher mass. The view was obtained at a distance of approximately 781,000 km from Pandora. Mimas is around 1.4 million km from the spacecraft in this image. The Cassini mission is a cooperative project of NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Italian Space Agency. (Photo by EPA/NASA/Space Science Institute)
