A photographer has captured these eerie images showing the scale of some of Britain's deepest darkest wonders. Mike Deere, from Reading, heads to daunting locations such as abandoned mine shafts, miles of sewer tunnels that snake underneath London and even disused cooling towers. If you want to be Dart Vader, you will have to deal with his everyday problems, too. That’s what Paweł Kadysz is doing with his new photo project. He aims to take a picture every day for a year – and each one of them should show the Dark Lord of the Sith tackling everyday life. Washing dishes, ironing clothes, eating breakfast – all those little things that heroes do off screen.

After being rescued as a young fox cub, Todd the 11-month-old fox is getting along just fine as a domestic pet together with his owner, Emma D’Sylva. Todd goes for walks on a leash, plays with D’Sylva’s two other dogs, and wags his tail when it’s time to eat. He was rescued by D’Sylva when he was 4 months old from other owners who could no longer care for him.
