Jennifer Maestre (born 1959 in Johannesburg, South Africa) is a Massachusetts-based artist, internationally known for her unique pencil sculptures.
She derives most of her inspiration from the form and texture of the sea urchin. To make the pencil sculptures, Jennifer makes use of a variety pencils, nails and stitching. She takes hundreds of pencils, cuts them into small 1-inch sections, drills a hole in each section, sharpens them all and sews them together.

The sirens Charybdis and Scylla resided in the Sicilian Sea. Homer tells us that because Charybdis had stolen the oxen of Hercules, Zeus struck her with a thunderbolt and changed her into a whirlpool whose vortex swallowed up ships. In Charybdis the circular movement of water inside a transparent acrylic cylinder forms an air-core vortex in the centre. Steps wrap around the cylinder and allow spectators to view the vortex from above. The cylinder was manufactured in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Calvin Nicholls is a master when it comes to the art of paper reliefs. He manages to capture an essence of gracefulness in each of his sculptures. In this particular collection where the focus is nature here are many of the seventy-five sculptures that were created for the Follet Collection Resources Campaign in response to a request of licensing from art director Lee Sievers. Motoi Yamamoto is an incredibly patient man. His intricate salt labyrinths can take weeks to create and require a slow, steady hand, not to mention a tremendous amount of salt. The result is a beautifully detailed, if impermanent, exhibition.
