Yemeni beekeeper Muhammad Mutahar checks his beehives at his bee farm on the roof of his house in Sana'a, Yemen, 02 August 2023. Mutahar, 45, a father of seven, is struggling to maintain the beekeeping legacy of his grandfather and father. He has a small bee farm of over 25 beehives on the roof of his house in a western neighborhood of the capital city of Sana'a. Due to the lack of nearby pastures, he finds it challenging to keep his bees fed. He began beekeeping 25 years ago, along with his father and grandfather, in their remote village, Maswarh, located in the north of Sanaa. The war-torn country's deteriorating economic situation and high fuel prices, however, have prevented him from moving his bees to distant pastures across Yemen. As a result, he relies on artificial food to feed his bees. (Photo by Yahya Arhab/EPA)
