In this file photo taken on Friday March 16, 2018 a pangolin from the Johannesburg Wildlife Veterinary Hospital is taken to a nearby field to forage for food near Johannesburg. Nearly 100 countries took part in a globe-spanning crackdown on the illegal wildlife trade, seizing tons of meat, ivory, pangolin scales and timber in a monthlong bust that exposed the international reach of traffickers, Interpol said Wednesday, June 20, 2018. This picture taken on October 19, 2018 shows ranger looking at a green turtle in a nesting ground on Thameehla Island. Peril plagues the young life of a baby turtle in Myanmar; if the crabs don' t get them before they scramble from the beach to the sea, poachers or fishing trawlers may do – while habitat destruction also decimates their numbers. Myanmar' s waters boast five of the world' s seven sea turtle species, including the critically endangered hawksbill, the endangered green turtle as well as the olive ridley, leatherback and loggerhead turtles, all listed as vulnerable. In this May 7, 2009, file photo, a Siberian tiger crouches on top of a tourist bus at a branch of Harbin Siberian Tigers Breeding Center in Shenyang in northeast China's Liaoning province. China says it will allow trading in products made from endangered tigers and rhinos under “special circumstances”, reversing a previous ban and bringing condemnation from conservation groups. A notice from the Cabinet issued Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, avoided mentioning any change in the law, saying instead that it would “control” the trade and that rhino horns and tiger bones could only be obtained from farmed animals for use in “medical research or in healing”. In this August 3, 2016 photo, a large bison blocks traffic in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park as tourists take photos of the animal. Record visitor numbers at the nation's first national park have transformed its annual summer rush into a sometimes dangerous frenzy, with selfie-taking tourists routinely breaking park rules and getting too close to Yellowstone's storied elk herds, grizzly bears, wolves and bison. Kate Masteic, 23, with Digby before they left for the awards ceremony. Two-year-old Digby, an American miniature horse, was in training to help his blind owner-to-be, who is scared of dogs, cross roads, find post boxes and activate traffic lights. Once fully trained, Digby was supposed to live with a dog-phobic journalist at his home in Blackburn to help him with the same day-to-day tasks as a guide dog would. But now, Digby has grown too large to work as a guide horse as hes 33 inches in height, too high for a conventional guide horse. Devastated owner-to-be Mohammed Salim Patel said the while Digby wouldnt be working as a guide horse, he will still have an instrumental role in promoting guide horses in the UK.
