Children Internally displaced people (IDP's) from the Central African Republic wait to be registered by an NGO in Liton, Central African Republic, 10 February 2021. The Central African Republic has extended the current state of emergency for six months as the fight against a coalition of rebel groups not part of this peace agreement continues. The IDPs have been given food aid by the organisation PAM once, and non-food items by Action Contre la Faim. More international organisations are waiting for possibilities of actions but even though Liton is only 22 kilometers away from Bangui they haven't been able to reach due to security concerns. 2559 people have been displaced in the village of Liton, in the Central African Republic mid-January. They fled when alert was given that more than a hundred armed men from the Coalition of Patriots for Change (CPC) a coalition of armed groups formed on 19 December 2020 prior to the elections. More than 240,000 people have left their homes, to take refuge in neighbouring countries, or inside the Central African Republic since 15 December 2020 according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). Preschoolers are seen next to the ballot box on January 18, 2021 in Lausanne during a referendum, organized by private preschools network Educalis, aimed to ease young children into participating in Switzerland's famed direct democratic system. Rather than playing house or building blocks, a few dozen Swiss preschoolers line up to cast their ballots in a vote shaping life in a pretend village where they run the show. There has been a growing push in Switzerland to prepare youths for taking part in the country's unique system, in which citizens are called to vote on a wide range of topics every few months. But the Educalis project stands out due to the very young age of its participants. (Photo by Fabrice Coffrini/AFP Photo)

A boy gestures as Lebanese anti-government protesters confront security forces while going around the homes of deputies and government officials in the northern port city of Tripoli to protest the economic situation and their role in leading the country to crisis, on January 28, 2021. Tripoli was already one of Lebanon's poorest areas before the coronavirus pandemic piled new misery onto a chronic economic crisis. Many of its residents have been left without an income since Lebanon imposed a full lockdown earlier this month in a bid to stem a surge in Covid-19 cases and prevent its hospitals from being overwhelmed.
