People celebrate at the MAD (Moulin a Danse) night club on the first evening after COVID-19 measures were eased enabling the reopening of discotheques at full capacity and without mask upon presentation of COVID-19 certificates in Lausanne, Switzerland, early Saturday, June 26, 2021. Switzerland is facing an exponential rise in coronavirus cases. But its federal government, hasn't responded with new lockdown measures. Experts say that's because the government's anti-COVID policies face a crucial test at the ballot box. On Sunday Nov. 28, 2021, Swiss voters will cast ballots on a “COVID-19 law” that has unlocked billions of Swiss francs in aid for workers and businesses hit by the pandemic. Taylor Geraghty performs a scene during a virtual production for ZED RUN on July 19, 2021 in Sydney, Australia. Digital horse racing game ZED RUN, created in Australia by CEO Chris Laurent, COO Rob Salha, CTO Geoff Wellman and Creative Director Chris Ebeling of Virtually Human Studio (VHS). VHS, a leader in developing immersive entertainment experiences, is teaming up with Spectre Studios to create a virtual production in Sydney, Australia. The virtual production will be designed, filmed and delivered in Unreal Engine - a real-time 3D creation platform. ZED RUN is a digital horse racing game built on the blockchain that runs live racing around the clock and creates unique crypto assets – NFTs or a 'non-fungible tokens'. ZED RUN is a game of skill, whereby participants can buy digital racehorses, breed, trade, and race to increase the value of their racehorses. Unlike real-life horseracing, races take place without jockeys on a floating track in a futuristic digital landscape. The outcome of each race is determined by an algorithm combined with the unique attributes of each individual racehorse. Usually known as thoroughbreds, only 38,000 Genesis horses will ever be available and breeding two together combines their characteristics to create the others. In the future, ZED RUN will look to introduce such things as track conditions, gate preference and different classes. Growing to a team of 50, the platform has recently started hosting 1,500 races a day initiated by users globally. (Photo by Lisa Maree Williams/Getty Images)
