A koala sleeps high up a eucalyptus tree on Kangaroo Island, Southern Australia. A parliamentary report recommended the state declare koalas, western grey kangaroos, long-nosed fur seals and little corellas overabundant, and that culling should be considered. This family of warthogs regularly visited our campsite in the Ethiopian highlands so I set up a remote camera with a wide-angle lens to photograph them as they rummaged around for food. They just had a mud bath. (Photo by Will Burrard-Lucas/Caters News Agency)

It has been an exciting week for the new baby rhino, Granville, at West Midland Safari Park, who has been introduced to his family, met his new neighbours and was finally named. At just nine days old, keepers decided that the curious youngster was ready to venture out and about to meet the rest of his family and the other creatures that inhabit the African Plains section of the Safari Drive-through.For a tiny baby rhino, navigating his way around a new habitat with unusual inhabitants must be very daunting, so appeared a bit unsure at first. But after some gentle coaxing from mum, eight-year-old Ailsa, the bouncing baby boy was soon seen charging around, coming nose-to-nose with older brother Ekozu and nuzzling watchful aunties, Trixie and Mtuba. Here: The male calf is the third calf to be born at the Park in as many years. (Photo by WMSP/Caters News Agency)

Lions in a tree. Not usually known for their love of heights this family of lions have been captured lazing in a tree, risking their pride before a fall. Stunning shot show the family of lions spread out across different branches as they try to take a cat nap. The striking pictures were taken in Serengeti, Tanzania by financer David Chen (42), from Kfar Saba, Israel. (Photo by David Chen/Media Drum World)

Two male lions fight for dominance on the plains of The Masai Mara in Kenya. Alpha lions are often caught up in fights when it comes to claiming their partner and territory. Usually found in the African desert, the big cats that often hunt in large groups often kill smaller animals but can attack other mammals such as cheetahs. (Photo by Ingo Gerlach/Caters News Agency)

This is the incredible moment an army of crocodiles proved that rivers are no place for a zebra crossing. Ingo Gerlach captured the remarkable shots as the giant crocs tucked into their prey in Kenya's Mara River. The German wildlife photographer had to wait for almost two hours as the zebras roamed free in the savannah. But his patience paid off as he was left with a collection of stunning snaps as the crocodiles devoured the helpless striped mammals. (Photo by Ingo Gerlach/Fortitude Press)

A handout image made available by the Ol Pejeta Conservancy on August 23, 2019, shows a northern white female rhinos called Najin, 30, at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in central Kenya on August 21, 2019. Veterinarians have successfully harvested eggs from the last two surviving northern white rhinos, taking them one step closer to bringing the species back from the brink of extinction, scientists said in Kenya on August 23, 2019. Science is the only hope for the northern white rhino after the death last year of the last male, named Sudan, at the Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya where the groundbreaking procedure was carried out August 22, 2019.
