Standalone picture dated March 30, 2023 shows Blackpool's iconic Mirror Ball on the South Promenade, UK – reputed to be the largest in the world – which has just been refurbished. The Mirror Ball, which was created by artist Michael Trainor and measures six metres in diameter, has had six new projectors installed, allowing spectators to see the twinkling landmark lit up at night in a colour-changing light show, using 75 per cent less power than before. The artwork, which features 47,000 mirrors, was inspired by and named after the 1969 Hollywood film, They Shoot Horses Don't They? which features a large Mirror Ball.
