Venezuela has fallen into a new deep political crisis after National Assembly leader Juan Guaido declared himself interim president of Venezuela 23 January and promised to guide the country toward new election as he consider last May's election not valid. Many Heads of State and governments have recognized Guaido as president, among them US President Donald Trump, Canadian Government and Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro. Nicolas Maduro became president in 2013 after the death of Hugo Chavez and was sworn in for a second term on May 2018. Venezuela has been facing an economic and social crisis where the inflation, according to the document of the National Assembly, has reached 80.000 per cent per cent in 12 months and the shortages of basic items have lead millions of people into poverty while according to reports up to three million Venezuelans have left the country since 2014.
