Farmers unload winter vegetable tomatoes from boats for sale at Baishmouja market in Brahmanbaria on January 22, 2024. This traditional market on the banks of Meghna river is about 200 years old. Boats are the only means of transporting goods in this market. Currently, 40 kg of tomatoes are being sold at Tk 1,200 ($12). Farmers bring their produce to the market in the morning by boat and wholesalers buy it and take it to the surrounding districts.
