The lion stops and looks down from the hill, another lion is coming up, it stiffens, I think that will be a fight, i'm tense, the camera is OK, the shots previously made perfect. This stirring collection of photos which offer a glimpse behind the scenes of army life have all been selected as winners in an annual competition. The remarkable pictures in the Army Photographic Competition show Britain's soldiers at work and play. They have been taken by amateur and professional soldier cameramen and include images from operations in Afghanistan, air shows and sporting events. Greece-based illustrator, Charis Tsevis took his fascination with our wired world to develop his series of colorful and detailed wire illustrations. He uses all types of wires, including USB cords and phone cables, and creates form figures, faces and animals by tangling them together. In order to get a glimpse into the visual culture of drug trade in New York City, a British photographer Graham MacIndoe collected more than one hundred bags, which were used to sell heroin. These bags feature references to various movies, fast-food restaurants, and luxury brands. This could be a way to mark various purities of heroin, or maybe different drug dealers use different markers to distinguish between each other. We can only wonder where Graham has acquired all these heroin bags. Hopefully, he picked them up after their contents were emptied. (Photo by Graham MacIndoe)
