Lucy the Elephant is a six-story elephant-shaped example of novelty architecture, constructed of wood and tin sheeting in 1881 by James V. Lafferty in Margate City, Atlantic County, New Jersey, United States, two miles (3.2 km) south of Atlantic City, in an effort to sell real estate and attract tourists.

Photographer Vincent Jansen travels throughout Europe, visiting beautiful abandoned places. He explores churches, factories, sanatoriums, mortuaries, villas and theaters, all quietly waiting for renovation or demolition. Das Park Hotel was designed by Austrian architect and designer Andreas Strauss , and it is located in Linz, Austria. From inside, “rooms” have been humanized by Austrian artist Thomas Latzel Ochoa, who painted illustrations on walls. Hotel is open from May till October.
