Malaysian artist Vince Low’s series of doodle art illustrations of some of cinema’s famous leading men is a delight to behold.

Racing fans soak up the sunshine and dress to impress during Ladies Day at the Aintree Grand National meeting on April 8, 2011 in Aintree, England. Friday is traditionally Ladies day at the three-day meeting of the world famous Grand National, where fashion is as important as the racing.

An artist has created a homage to cultural and historical figures – by immortalising them as Star Wars characters. Mike Leavitt wanted to “document the pulse of our times” through his sculpture by splicing non-fiction characters with famous faces. He chose the sci-fi trilogy as a basis for what he calls his “pop culture satirical mash-ups”, with many of the pieces hand-carved from wood. “One innovative artist has created quirky artwork which re-imagines classical paintings with the faces of famous modern day cover stars such as Angeline Jolie.
