Tanbo Art is the strategic planting of four varieties of rice which have different colored leaves in order to create a giant image in the rice paddy. This type of aesthetic planting began in the Japanese village of Inakadate in 1993 in order to celebrate the village’s over 2000 year history of rice farming. The practice has spread to other rice cultivating communities in Japan and even other countries such as Thailand and South Korea.

As a supporter of the de-Stalinization programs of his predecessor Nikita Khrushchev, Gorbachev initiated numerous reforms during his tenure. He signed a nuclear arms treaty with the United States and withdrew the Soviet Union from the Soviet-Afghan war. His policies created freedom of speech and press, and decentralized fiscal policy planning and execution to increase efficiency. A Spanish photographer has created a collection of pictures featuring animals dressed in human clothing. Miguel Vallinas who is based in Madrid, has called the project Segundas Pieles which means Second Skins. But rather than just creating a collection of funny pictures, Vallinas tries to imagine which clothes the animals would choose for themselves if they could.
