The cast of The Expendables, L-R: actors Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Terry Crews attended the ringing of the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Wall Street in NYC today. There is something so unsexy (not to mention suspect) about a male who constantly takes off his shirt to flex his muscles while in the company of other alpha males.

This spectacular series of pop culture pictures by François Dourlen combines elements from movies with appropriate locations. The process for this includes using a screenshot or picture from pop culture that is pulled up on a phone and taking a picture of said image in a strategically placed position over a fitting background.

The Berlin & Freiburg-based duo deftly translates the scale of the lightly stained woodgrain to create the winsome scenes. From swimsuit-clad sunbathers on a sparsely populated beach to cabins against a backdrop of fresh snow, it takes just a couple well-placed elements, digitally printed on plywood, to suggest an aerial image on the otherwise unassuming tabletop.

From towering elephants to tiny insects, photographers will be offering a rare insight into the natural world at this year’s Wildscreen Photography Festival 2014. Meet the snake-mimicking butterfly (Dynastor darius). While this slick master of disguise may show off impeccable imitation skills, prior to taking on this serpentine appearance it was simply a furry, nondescript caterpillar, and it looked pretty much how you would expect any old caterpillar to look.
