When rations run short on Wolf Island, in the remote northern Galápagos, the sharp-beaked ground finches become vampires. Their sitting targets are Nazca boobies and other large birds. The finches rely on a scant diet of seeds and insects, which regularly dries up, so they drink blood to survive. ‘I’ve seen more than half a dozen finches drinking from a single Nazca booby,’ says Tom. Robinson got back in the ring, but lost the decision in ten rounds. LaMotta pummelled him for the rest of the fight, winning via a unanimous decision, giving Robinson the first defeat of his career.They fought again just 21 days later when Robinson regained his mantle winning in another 10-round fight, Robinson won the close fight by a unanimous decision.
