Chicago-based illustrator Alex Solis created fat versions of famous pop culture characters in this funny illustration series entitled “Famous Chunkies”.

In this artist illustration handout from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) is seen. According to NASA, the 12,500 pound satellite will fall from orbit into earth's atmosphere anytime between September 22 through 24. Have you ever heard of a phenomenon called the Uncanny Valley? Illustrations created by Swiss illustrator Christo Dagorov show how horrible something may look when it’s a hair’s breadth away from looking human. In his illustrations he combined the shape of human lips with trees, buildings, and even human bodies, making it look from a distance as if the lips were horribly deformed by some unknown disease. However, after a while you make out the shapes, yet the feeling of uneasiness remains, making you shiver from unsuppressable disgust. (Photo by Christo Dagorov)

Suso33 spent the last few days perched on a yellow crane to work on this impressive new piece on the streets of Madrid, Spain. Using a rather simple technique, the Spanish artist painted a brilliant piece which enters directly amongst our favourite artworks this year. This mural is a concentration of slightly outlined figures which are persecuted by their shadows, but if the viewer, instead of focusing on details, looks at the entire picture, what he sees is another figure.
