This diver almost got sucked into the mouth of a massive whale shark as it feeds on plankton. But far from staring into the jaws of death – the shark, which are the sea's largest fish, is actually vegetarian. The relieved diver escaped from the encounter unscathed and continued to enjoy the presence of the incredibly docile animals. The close encounter, captured off Bimini Island in the Bahamas, shows the hammerhead approaching diver Eli Martinez who bravely stands his ground as the giant beast approaches. Eli, free diving outside of a protective cage, carefully handled the sea creature despite its menacing razor-sharp teeth – but admitted they are extremely shy and need a lot of work to allow divers close to them. These jaw-some images show what its like to look inside the mouth of a tiger shark. Captured in amazing detail, the unique pictures show the alien-like anatomy of the shark and reveal rows upon rows of razor sharp teeth and white coloured gills. The incredible photographs were taken when a curious shark began to inspect the camera of British born photographer, Adam Hanlon, 46. After sensing electronic impulses omitted by Adams camera, the inquisitive creature began to gently mouth at the cameras housing allowing him capture the unusual perspective.
