Kim Haskins was born in 1981 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Throughout school she was known as the class artist - the one who drew pictures in other peoples’ exercise books, made posters for school plays, designed t-shirts etc. Even growing up she pictures always fell into one of two categories: humorous or still life.

A South American marine animal rescue group “S.O.S Rescate de Fauna Marina” is raising a baby La Plata Dolphin (Pontoporia blainvillei) found beached near Montevideo city with its umbilical cord still attached. The group is headed by Richard Tesore who is shown swimming with the baby female dolphin near the seaside resort of Piriapolis in Uruguay.

Spanish artist Maximo Riera has produced a miniature series of his animal chair collection. The models are created entirely using nylon and a type of 3D printing called SLS (selective laser sintering).The process enables the small objects to achieve the best possible quality, resistance and lightest weight. based on the large-scale designs that combined animals and furniture into one item, the unconventional and peculiar compositions are still apparent in these latest versions.

Rescuers search for survivors in the rubble of a collapsed residential building in Makongeni estate in Nairobi December 17, 2014. Three more bodies were recovered on Wednesday night from the building that collapsed in Makongeni estate in Nairobi, raising the death toll to four, Kenya Red Cross has reported. The residential building whose sixth floor was still under construction had allegedly not been cleared for occupation by the Nairobi City County and its owner has been missing since it collapsed.
