The Bridge is a concept design for the ArchTriumph competition – they wanted to actually create something rather fun and frivolous (as opposed to their projects that are all of great concern when it comes to functionality, comfort for its users etc). The competition was a nice opportunity to create something a bit “outside the lines” and to have fun actually. A fun and smart idea, yet rigorous, congratulations!

As part of a promotion to celebrate the arrival of Game of Thrones season 3 to their streaming video service, they have placed a huge dragon skull on a popular beach in Dorset, England. Something that will certainly get your attention when going for a leisurely stroll along the shore.

Mungo Thomson is a contemporary visual concept artist from Los Angeles. His work can be described as simple but fascinating. His interest in what he calls ‘the dumb idea’, something simple but interesting, makes his art so special.

Imagine living in the sea where it is permanently dark, cold, and food is hard to find. For many animals at depth, it may be weeks to months between meals. If you find something to eat, you have to hang on to it. This is why so many deep-sea fishes have lots of big teeth. This dragonfish, spotted off the coast of Australia, even has teeth on its tongue. An adorable baby koala is seen enjoying a snooze after a traumatic start to life. The baby koala, nicknamed “Blondie Bumstead”, is being cared for by a volunteer from the Ipswich Koala protection society in Queensland after her mother was killed by a dog. Blondie, who was named for her light fur, was given just a 50-50 chance of pulling through after the attack. But after a course of antibiotics and some tender loving car from volunteer Marilyn Spletter she has now been given a clean bill of health. According to Marilyn she has hand-reared around 40 baby koalas but says that Blondie, who will be released back into the wild after 15 months, is one of her favourites. She said: “She's got a little character all of her own and she knows what she wants and what she doesn't. When she's stressed I kiss her on the nose or I rub my nose on hers and it relaxes her”.
