Born in London of Scottish descent, Adrian Chesterman, British painter and illustrator, was educated at the William Harvey School in Kent. It was here that he first discovered his burning passion for the visual arts.

Nine years ago, Tom Carter traveled from San Francisco to China, responding to a job posting that turned out to be a scam. He managed to find another job as a teacher, and saved enough money to embark on a 56,000 km trip through all of China's 33 provinces that lasted two years. Located in the Mokattam Mountain in southeastern Cairo, Egypt, the Monastery of Saint Simon or the Cave Church is a beautiful and mystical location. The area is also known under the name of the “garbage city” because of the large population of garbage collectors or Zabbaleen that live here and who are the descendants of farmers who started migrating from Upper Egypt to Cairo in the 1940s.
