This is one of our latest hand crafted chess set designs. A weathered/worn look is incorporated into this set, as well as a steampunk themed perimeter decor. Natural cracks, chips and scuffs are used and even highlighted to enhance this rustic feel. A series of these and non-weathered versions will be presented on etsy in the upcoming weeks.

The expertly colourised shots were brought to life by French bank technician, Frédéric Duriez (51). The images were provided by the Valois collection which belongs to the BDIC. “By colourising these photos, I reduce the time that separates us today from this conflict”, said Frédéric. Art director Stephen McMennamy puts photos together to create quirky images for his ongoing project “combophoto’s”. Whether it’s a seagull with an airplane tail or a pair of donut headphones, he jots down his inspirations for each piece on his tumblr. Ever since he got interested in photography through instagram in 2012, he also set up an extra account named @combophotofail, where he shares a look behind-the-scenes on how these images are produced.
