The Milky Way shines in mesmerizing colourful patterns above the Isle of Wight in stunning photographs. Chad Powell used a DSLR camera to capture images of the spectacular constellation above the familiar beach scenes of England's largest island. The 22-year-old, who shot the pictures over a year of stargazing on the island, often stayed up until dawn to catch the most dramatic sky-scapes. Chad, a graphic designer from Ventnor, Isle of Wight, used foregrounds of abandoned theme parks, harbors and lighthouses against the illuminated sky. A photographer has weathered some of America's most violent storms to capture these stunning snaps. Storm chaser Mike Mezeul II, 30, has traveled all over the US to shoot the likes of mammoth thunderstorms and surreal cloud patterns. Terence Chang's (aka exxonvaldez) long exposure photographs, capturing only streaks of light as airplanes arrive and depart from the San Francisco airport, certainly are stunning. There's just something so magical about seeing the various patterns created in the sky, even over a relatively short amount of time.

There is an endless bounty of eye-catching gemstones throughout the world and this spectacular boulder opal is one unique beauty that looks like a shimmering crystal encased in a tree fossil. Its opalescent sheen seeps through the cracks of the seemingly wooden rings in lustrous hues of emerald green and aqua blue. Like something out of a fairy tale, the triangular piece radiates through an organic pattern mimicking the growth rings of tree.

Alexey Malina has portrayed the Seven Deadly Sins in a series of posters called Seven Sins. The black shapes bleed as the deception and dread of sin’s course evolves in one’s life. Their stamina caves to lust, wrath, envy, greed, sloth, pride and gluttony. As the New Testament warns us, “flee from evil, cling to what is good” for the patterns that follow the seven only lead to death.

Last year around this time, Zuzia Kozerska of Valek Rolling Pins (previously) practically set the internet on fire with lasers, more specifically her laser engraved rolling pins that imprint different patterns in cookie dough. Kozerska has been hard at work creating increasingly more complex designs as well as special mini pins just for kids. You can see more in her Etsy shop.
