Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, also known as Golden Rock is a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon State, Burma. It is a small pagoda (7.3 metres (24 ft)) built on the top of a granite boulder covered with gold leaves pasted on by devotees. According to legend, the Golden Rock itself is precariously perched on a strand of the Buddha's hair. The balancing rock seems to defy gravity, as it perpetually appears to be on the verge of rolling down the hill. The rock and the pagoda are at the top of Mt. Kyaiktiyo. It is the third most important Buddhist pilgrimage site in Burma after the Shwedagon Pagoda and the Mahamuni Pagoda. A glimpse of the "gravity defying" Golden Rock is believed to be enough of an inspiration for any person to turn to Buddhism.

Sleep under the Stars, hosted by Hepburn Wind, has given us an opportunity to enrich our daily life with art. Thanks to this festival, a regular wind turbine was turned into a marvelous peace of art. The artwork is especially noticeable, since its theme greatly contrasts with the background behind the wind turbine. Moreover, the idea of drawing a woman-giantess walking over the mountain tops on a large conical object is quite extraordinary. Nevertheless, the grey and green colors of the picture were very well chosen for this particular image. You can only imagine the obstacles that the artists had to face when making a picture on such a large object. However, nowadays, people never cease to amaze with their ingenuity, leaving us gaping in awe at their creations.

A canine-crazy photographer helped make his dog healthy after seeing him raid the fridge by posing him up with fruit. How sure are you of your geographical knowledge? Buzzfeed recently put Americans’ geographical knowledge to the test with a survey in which participants had to write in countries’ names on a blank European political map. Unfortunately, they didn’t fare too well, but some of their responses are hilarious (or hilariously mis-informed). But don’t be so quick to judge Americans – when Buzzfeed posted a similar survey testing Brits’ knowledge of the 50 United States, they also came up short. On the one hand, knowing a country’s states is different from knowing independent countries, but on the other, some U.S. states are larger than some European nations, and some U.S. states have larger economies than some European nations.
