Professional surfer Al Mennie walks over sand dunes as he makes his way back to his van after surfing on October 27, 2017 in Portrush, Northern Ireland. Known primarily for surfing Mennie has also paddleboarded from Ireland to Scotland for charity. A converted infrared or IR digital camera removes the hot mirror filter placed in front of the camera's sensor which blocks infrared light. The human eye is unable to detect infrared light range which is measured in nanometres as it lies beyond what is known as “the visible spectrum”. (Photo by Charles McQuillan/Getty Images)
