The annual RHL Weston Beach Race at Weston-super-Mare in Somerset is the biggest single event on the British off-road calendar. Since the first staging of the event in 1982, when it was organised by a group of local businessman, it has developed to such an extent that now nearly 100,000 people attend each October, as the town’s beach is converted into a gigantic race track.
